How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations?
The world that I have come from is my family. I am so fortunate to be a part of a home where there has always been love and the encouragement of dreams. Since my earliest memories, music has been a defining influence in my life and has given my family countless opportunities for service. My goal is to continue to use music to lift others and bring joy into the lives of those around me.

Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss America Pageant?
The Miss America Pageant has it all: Style, Success, Service and Scholarship. I love how this pageant encourages a confident, well-rounded young women. Being involved has helped strengthen the talents and qualities that I already have, as well as become more confident in areas where I have needed growth. A young women who becomes involved in the Miss America Organization will leave a better person. I have seen this change in myself and I am grateful for the shaping of both who I am today, and the woman who I am becoming.

What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why?
The issue of self respect is critical in my generation. Having respect for one's self impacts every decision that we make. It can determine whether we open the door to destructive addictions such as drug and alcohol abuse, or we choose to be true to our goals and what we believe in. With self respect, our lives will be a reflection of what really matters to us and we will have a sense of peace in the unique person that we are.
