How has the world you come from shaped your dreams and aspirations?
I was raised in an environment where I was surrounded by strong, positive role models. They have shown me that as long as I stay focused and true to myself, everything is possible. These role models have inspired me to travel around the world, to continue to make a difference in the lives of others and to have high expectations of who I want to be. Because of these people, I have been able to accomplish my dreams, and I am continuing to live a life that I love and of which I am proud.
Of all the ways you could succeed in your life, why have you chosen to succeed in the Miss America Pageant?
The Miss America Organization has given me the opportunity to not only develop into a well-rounded, confident woman, but to also take what I have learned and help others become more confident about who they are. I believe one of the biggest ways one can be successful is by helping others. By competing in the Miss America system, I know I have been able to make a difference and that is a feeling of satisfaction that no amount of money can buy.
What social issue, other than your platform, will have the greatest impact on your generation and why?
Environmental sustainability is the social issue that will have the greatest impact on my generation. We need to be more aware of the impact our daily decisions will have on our environment. My generation needs to lead past and future generations through example, education, and innovation regarding our fragile natural resources. It is crucial that we protect and preserve our earth for future generations.
