The Miss America Program and its 1,500 local and state competitions comprise the largest single source of scholarship funds available to young women in the world. Annually, an estimated 40 million dollars is offered to more than 30,000 young women who participate in the Miss America programs.

Consistent with the job responsibilities and the Miss America philosophy, the following are some qualities and attributes of a Miss America.

  • Role model who cares about her role and other women’s roles in society;

  • Physically conscientious women with a confident and commanding presence;

  • Ambassador and public relations representative of the Miss America Organization;

  • Talented and intelligent;

  • An activist on issues she deems important;

  • Independent and eloquent communicator with the courage of her convictions;

  • Accomplished individual whose represents the modern American woman;

  • A leader by virtue of her experiences;

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The Miss Idaho/Miss America Scholarship Program is a wonderful way for young women to raise scholarship dollars and further develop as strong, confident women.  Below are some of the eligibility requirements to participate.

To compete, you must:

  • Be a United States citizen

  • Idaho residency status meeting one of the following:
    – Resident of Idaho for 60 Days
    – Full time employee in Idaho for 60 Days
    – Full time college student in Idaho
    – Full time college student in another state with permanent residence in Idaho

  • Between the ages of 18 and 25 Never been married or a parent

  • Never convicted of a crime

  • Personal involvement with a community/social issue, referred to as “your Social Impact Initiative”

  • Please review the Miss America Contestant Contract included in the candidate paperwork package below for additional eligibility requirements

Registration Fee

Miss Candidates will need to register with the Miss America Organization and pay a once per local season fee of $35.  Those that register will receive the following benefits;

  • Chance to win a $1,000 scholarship – one in each state + D.C.

    • Public speaking

    • Advocacy & Fundraising

FAIR, FESTIVAL, OR COLLEGE TITLEHOLDERS

A candidate who holds a college, fair, festival, or judged event title may apply to compete at the Miss Idaho Competition. There are specific guidelines and the State Board will make the final determination. Want to see if you are eligible? The Miss Idaho and Miss Idaho's Outstanding Teen Pageant accepts candidates who have won a judged event, University, Fair or Festival competition.
