Competition Categories

Miss Idaho’s + Idaho’s Teen Phases of Competition.

Winners will continue their journey to compete at Miss America and Miss America’s Teen.

  • Delegates meet privately with the judging panel for 10 minutes to discuss their goals, interests, and community service initiatives. This phase evaluates communication skills, personality, and the ability to express ideas clearly and authentically.

  • Delegates perform a 90-second talent of their choice, showcasing creativity, skill, and stage presence. This phase highlights individual passion and dedication. Examples include:

    • Singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, monologues, piano, gymnastics, or other unique performances.

    • Science demonstrations, spoken word poetry, stand-up comedy, archery, or other creative and original acts.

    • Performances that highlight cultural heritage, such as traditional dances or storytelling.

    • Combining multiple skills or disciplines, like a dance routine with a spoken word performance or a musical act with visual art or a sport feature.

    • Delegates participate in an athletic wear segment designed to promote strength, confidence, and a commitment to a healthy lifestyle. This is not a full fitness routine, but a choreographed, 30-second to 1-minute high-energy movement piece that all delegates learn together. It includes a walking/modeling component and is focused on showcasing energy, stage presence, and overall wellness, not a specific body type.

  • Delegates walk the stage in evening wear of their choosing. Judges consider poise, confidence, and personal style, not the gown itself.

  • Delegates answer a question live on stage, allowing judges to assess their ability to think quickly, communicate clearly, and express their values under pressure.

The time is now.

Whether you dream of competing, are looking for scholarship opportunities, or believe in empowering the next generation, there's a place for you in our community.
